Who am I?

In a few words: I'm Blair, a computer geek. In many more, I am a computer geek with an Economics degree, a knitter, and a fan of strange humor. I identify with cats and dragons. And, suprising to some, I'm partially deaf, but not enough to stop me from enjoying an eclectic taste in music.

What do I do?

I enjoy tinkering with computers, including helping others fix theirs. I regularly help my brother-in-law keep our parent's computers running. I knit, usually small things like hats, or socks. I have yet to work a sweater. Mostly, though, I aid my wife's fiber habits, and I use knitting as a de-stressor. I occasionally act, but not on a stage, and I have been spotted gaming. Currently my obsession is waiting for some new consoles; computer games have lost my interest.

Where am I or Where am I going?

Physically, I am located in Oregon, within the Columbia River Gorge. Job-wise, my goal is to work as a computer administrator or programmer. I have more practical experience for the former than the latter. However, that does not mean I cannot code. I know my way around Java and C++.

When did this all come about?

Some time ago, in a distant land, I was born into a world of confusion. Having traveled many long leagues, I have trained in the mysterious ways of Computer and Economic arts, to drop references about guns, butter, and the state of the equilibrium. I think I got a little warped around the time Adam Smith was introduced in college. If you must know, I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, with a minor in Computer Science.

Why all of this?

Why not? If we were all dreamers, this world might be a better place. Well, dreamers that also act upon what we dream. Or, to stop being silly, because I want to.

How is this happening?

Through several miracles, namely computers, electromagnetics and electricity, and something I call SSH. Currently, this is being composed on a Windows machine, if you so care, in Notepad++. Eventually, when I have my wits again, I'll have it in GNU Emacs. SDF, or the Super Dimensional Fortress, is hosting all of this. Be kind, please rewind.
